Betty Bajek, AARP CT Community Volunteer
Betty Bajek, has been an AARP CT Fraud Watch Network volunteer since March 2016. Education is her passion. Seeing the light go on in a student’s eyes gives her no greater satisfaction. Her career in teaching spanned the generations in both public/private sectors leading her to corporate education where she was responsible for the development, delivery, and documentation of instructor-led and online training both domestically and internationally. Currently, she is retired from corporate life after 20 years in the Pharmaceutical industry now working to educate others on consumer fraud protection. This began through her first-hand experience of becoming a victim. AARP CT was seeking peer educators for the Fraud Watch Network which offered Betty another vehicle to share her skills in familiar territory. Just two years in, Betty has become one of the leading voices in AARP for consumer fraud protection training others including law enforcement, financial crimes investigators and the community on how to combat consumer fraud.
